Miaohan Privacy Policy
Miaohan (the “App”) is a Korean camera translator that runs on your device. Our principle is simple: camera frames never leave your phone, and we do not collect your personal information.
1. Information we process
1.1 Camera frames
The App asks for camera access when you use live translation. Camera frames are used on your device for text recognition and translation, and are never uploaded to our servers or stored. Recognition and translation are performed on-device by Apple’s system frameworks (Vision and Translation).
1.2 Screenshots
Only when you tap “Save screenshot” is the translated frame written to your photo library. We cannot access your photo library.
1.3 Exchange rates
When you use the KRW converter, the App requests KRW-to-CNY exchange rates from public rate services (frankfurter.app and open.er-api.com). Those requests contain no camera frames, location, account, or other personal information.
1.4 Purchases
Watermark-removal passes and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple’s App Store. We do not receive your card number or billing address.
1.5 Local settings
Language preference, watermark status, and similar settings are stored on your device. The App has no account system and no server database of user content.

The App does not request microphone, contacts, location, or health-data permissions.
3. Third-party services
- Apple Vision / Translation: on-device text recognition and translation. The system may prompt you to download a language pack the first time you use a language; packs are provided by Apple and work offline once downloaded.
- Public exchange-rate services (frankfurter.app and open.er-api.com): used only to fetch exchange rates; no personal information is sent.
- Apple StoreKit: processes purchases and restores of watermark-removal passes and the lifetime unlock.
- The App contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or social-login SDK.
4. Storage and deletion
The App operates no user database and stores no translation content or personal data on a server. You can clear local data by:
- resetting the relevant settings in the App;
- deleting saved screenshots from your photo library;
- uninstalling the App, which removes its sandbox from your device.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. We will not disclose it to third parties except as required by law.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the version and effective date on this page and note material changes in the App’s release notes.
